Urgosorb – combining Alginate with Hydrocolloid
Alginates are natural polymers extracted from various species of brown seaweed and provide haemostatic performance as well as absorbency.
Hydrocolloid (CMC) natural polymer able to gel block, absorb exudate, debride, gel and create a moist environment.
Urgosorb is a sterile dressing composed of calcium alginate fibres and hydrocolloid particles (sodium carboxymethyl cellulose); which provide high absorbency.

Due to its synergistic combination of two natural polymers, Urgosorb is suitable for managing heavy exudate, effective debridement and provides excellent haemostatic performance.
Urgosorb creates a moist environment, which is favourable to wound healing. The ability to gel block in contact with wound exudate means that the product retains its integrity and can be removed in one piece.
